About Sesa Nkwa

Sesa Nkwa is about continual transformation and living a full and abundant life. Sesa comes from the Adinkra symbol “Sesa wo suban” meaning “transform or change your life or transform your character.” It is also a warning against arrogance, bad manners, and dishonorable behavior.

Sesa wo suban reminds us of our capacity to change, grow, and redefine ourselves and our life trajectories.

It is composed of two Adinkra symbols: the “morning star” — a signal of hope for a new day and a fresh start — and the wheel — signifying movement, action, and deliberate effort to change.

The combined imagery makes the Sesa wo suban.

It is not a passive act but a continuous, conscious effort to enact the changes necessary for positive growth.

Sesa wo suban is hope; it is the ability to take each day, each moment, each choice as an opportunity to do better.

Nkwa represents life, but not just the biological quintessence of the word “life.”

Nkwa extends beyond mere existence; it is the fullness and abundance of life.

Long life, fertility —not just the physical manifestations of procreation but creativity and agriculture, vigor, health, wealth, happiness, felicity, peace, tranquility, and a connection to community and the ancestors are all part of achieving Nkwa — a full and abundant life.

Sesa Nkwa Botanical Wellness was born from a deep love of care and a desire to help others reconnect with themselves.

The goal of Sesa Nkwa Botanical Wellness is not to tell you how you should live your life, but to uncover your own capacity for transformation and nkwagye — recapture life in all its fullness.
